Single-varietal, estate-grown coffee (100% Arabica) from the Ipiranga Estate in Guaranésia, situated in the highlands in the southern part of the State of Minas Gerais, one of Brazil's best coffee-growing regions. Produced purely in accordance with organic standards without any recourse to agrochemicals, Blue de Brasil is coffee that is certified as organic in the EU, USA and Japan. In a variety of tests conducted by a number of internationally renowned coffee merchants, Blue de Brasil has earned the highest recognition and the title 'Best Brazilian Coffee'. We deliberately steer clear of chemicals (pesticides, fungicides, insecticides and herbicides) so you can enjoy the unadulterated taste of pure, natural coffee.
Delicate roastingBy way of completing the process of organic cultivation and the subsequent preparation of the beans, the coffee is not, as is commonplace these days, roasted industrially, but submitted to an especially delicate method of roasting that goes back generations, one that produces a product that is bursting with flavour and body without any unpleasant bitterness. At the same time, the delicate roasting removes a large part of the water-content of the beans without abstracting any of the aromatic oils. The surface of the beans becomes dry, which makes them keep longer; it also greatly reduces the tendency of coffee machines to clog up with coffee oils. |
Socially committedOf equal importance to the Ipiranga Estate's shunning of agrochemicals, and the care it takes during the processing of the coffee, is its sense of social responsibility for the 350 people who work there. For a long time now, our estate has been putting into practice what many well-known institutions have long been trying to do. The pages on the Ipiranga Estate will tell you more about this aspect of our work. We would be delighted if you were to join those who regularly enjoy this exquisite coffee; by doing so, you would also be supporting the socially committed aspects of our work. |
Do also try our special Blue de Brasil Espresso roasting: with an even fuller flavour, it is ambrosial in its aroma and has a velvety-smooth body. To enjoy Blue de Brasil Espresso at its best, we recommend 6 - 7 g of finely ground beans per cup, and a water temperature of 90º C at a pressure of 9 bar. This will give you an espresso with 3 - 4 millimetres of long-lasting crema, a taste that is balanced and an intense aroma. Its exceedingly satisfying aftertaste has excellent length, as befits the finest espressos.
Any aficionado of characterful, quality coffee for whom variety is the spice of life should try our Blue de Brasil Mocca. Its exotic 'peaberry' beans are round and do not have the split that is characteristic of the usual beans.
Naturally, our Mocca beans are grown exclusively on the Ipiranga Estate, in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The estate adheres rigidly to the rules of the European Union, USA and Japan on organic cultivation.
